Josiah Matteson to Greene Matteson
Dated December 30, 1817
Know all men by these presents that I Josiah Matteson
of West Greenwich in the County of Kent and State of
Rhodeisland In Consideration of the Sum of two
Hundred and fifty dollars to me paid by Greene Matteson
of the Town County and State abovesaid the Receipt

Whereof I do hereby Acknowledge have Remised Released
and forever Quitclaimed and do by these presents Remise
Release and forever Quitclaim unto the Said Greene
Matteson his heirs and assigns forever one Certain
Lot of land Situated Lying and being in Westgreenwich
aforesaid and is all the Land that My Honored father
Ezekiel Matteson Gave me in his Will Lying and
being in Westgreenwich afores aid be the Same more
or Less. and also all the Right Title Property or Claim
that I now have or Ever may have in My Brother
Thomas Mattesons land. It being Given to him as Long
as he lives and after his Decease One half was Given
to me, and all the above Mentioned Land lying in
Tennant in Common with my Brothers – To have
and to hold the same together with all the Priveleges
and appertanances thereunto belonging to him the
Said Greene Matteson his heirs and assigns forever
and I Remitte Matteson Wife to the Said Josiah
Matteson for the above Mentioned Consideration
do hereby fully and absolutely Give up all my
Right of Dower and Power of Thirds of in and unto
the above Described premises. In Witness Whereof
we have hereunto Set our hands and Seals this
12th day of December in the Year of our Lord One
Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventeen an in
the forty first of American Independance
