James Green to his granddaughter Martha, wife of Joseph Matteson
Dated June 10, 1727
To all persons to whom these presents shall come,I, James Green of North
Kingston in the Colony of R.I. Providence Plantations, in New England,
sendeth Greetings.
Know ye that I, the above named James Green,for the great love and
natural affection that I do bear unto my beloved granddaughter Martha
Matteson, the wife of Joseph Matteson of East Greenwich,in the colony
aforesaid, I, the above James Green, being in perfect memory, have
given, granted, and confirmed, and do by these presents
writings,give,grant, and confirm, unto Martha Matteson and Joseph
Matteson, them and their heirs and assigns forever, 50 acres of land,
being part of my farm whereon I know live,at the ensealing of these
presents, bounded as follows:-- Northwardly, on the land of Daniel
Whitford, southwardly on the Spring Brook and so far eastwardly and
westward as to make 50 acres of land as conveniently as may be for
situation and convenience and all the mentioned land for him, the said
Joseph Matteson and Martha, his wife,them and their heirs and assigns
forever,with all privileges and appertainances thereunto belonging or
anyways appertaining to him and her or either of them, to have and to
hold, to enjoy or dispose of henceforth and forever, without any manner,
claim, challange or demand whatsoever of, by any person of persons by or
under me. And I, the above named James Green, to all and singly the
above mentioned premises unto my said grandson Joseph Matteson and
Martha Matteson, them and their heirs, executors, administrators and
assigns will forever warrant, and forever defend, against all manner of
persons whatsoever.
I the above said James Green, have hereunto set my hand and seal.
The date of these being the 5th day of May, in the year of our Lord
1727, signed, sealed, and delivered in the presents of us

The above named James Green and Anne his wife came before me ye
prescrbed, this 9th day of May, Anno Domini,1727,
and did acknowledge the above written instrument to be their real acts
and deeds, hands,and seals, thereunto affixed before me.
